METAL EMERGENCY! [Sep. 15th, 2008|03:04 pm]
Utah Metalheads

Tonight is the deadline! For the past month, Town and Country Lanes has sponsored a Metal Mondays . . . late night bowling and heavy metal music. They need a crowd to show tonite, or metal bowling will be no more!

The alley is on 8000 South State St., the event is from 9:pm - 12:30 AM! Zodiac is a phenomenal DJ, and takes requests!

Please go! I probably will have to work, and if there is no metal bowling next week, I will be PISSED!

More details on metal bowling night. [Sep. 4th, 2008|02:35 am]
Utah Metalheads
Here are a few more details on Metal Bowling Night.

It is located at Town and Country Lanes, located on 7980 S State St.

The event technically starts at 9:30 PM, which, yes, is technically after the alley is closed. They do not start the music until late, whereby to accommodate the usual Monday night crowd. In other words, the music is likely to be loud and possibly offensive. Use your discretion.

The alley employees seem very enthusiastic about the event. I'm looking forward to it myself, and hope it sticks around for a while.

Hope to see a few of you there.

Aging Metalheads . . . [Sep. 1st, 2008|08:28 am]
Utah Metalheads

For anyone who was under a rock, local metalhead and now famous comedian, Marcus, did this monologue for his finale on Last Comic Standing.

Out of curiosity, did anyone else empathize with his disposition at Mayhem Fest? Or am I the only one who is feeling that old?

The Blaze Still Lives and the Revolution Marches On [Aug. 12th, 2008|06:02 pm]
Utah Metalheads

[mood |happyhappy]

Hey Guys!!!

So, the blaze isn't dead, don't fret. :) Check out this post from their website:

We are a small and local broadcast company and we pride ourselves on the relationship we have with our listeners. So as good friends...here's The Truth!

After a 4 year battle, we lost the 94.9-FM Frequency to a big radio corporation based outside of Utah.
They acquired it legally and the FCC approved the transaction.
What was not granted to this corporation (although they tried very hard to get it) was "The Blaze". You see, they might have purchased the 94.9-FM dial position, but we own everything that used to be on it.
On 8-8-08, we were able to move "The Blaze" to its new home at 97.5-FM and 105.1-FM. Everything you know and love about The Blaze will remain the same, we just have a new home.
We were able to do this because of what you the listener did when you found out that we might be going away -- you came together and demanded that The Blaze be saved! You used your phones, you e-mailed, you posted THOUSANDS of MySpace bulletins. You painted your cars and you sent out mass texts. You rallied this community.
You saved The Blaze!
We may have started the Revolution, but YOU kept it marching on!
We can't thank you enough for the support, the countless well-wishes, and for saving our jobs!
The battle is far from over.
We are pretty sure that the big corporation will be putting up a new rock station in the hope that you will think it's the Blaze. Don't be fooled. The Blaze is now on 97.5 FM and in Utah County you can hear it on 105.1 FM.
As always, our home is your home. We hope you'll join us as we continue the Revolution we all started together. Let's prove to Corporate America that this culture is about more than money. It's about ROCK! And we'll be here to ensure the survival of that culture in Utah.
We love you! Spread the word! VIVA LA REVOLUTION!

They are over at 97.5 and the signal is coming in stronger every day. :) Also, the website is still there, of course, and they stream online, commercial free.

Thanks for the passion, guys. :)
